#MR TEMBO UKULELE HOW TO#
The aim of the Digital Citizenship program is to raise awareness and provide strategies about how to stay safe online. This lesson is part of the Secondary scope and sequence of Digital Citizenship classes developed and led by Ms.

As always, AISL students impressed with their maturity and their increasing awareness of the potential consequences of choices and decisions they make about comments, posts, and images they share. Tony Potts, K-12 Tech Integration and Primary Assistant Principal, facilitated discussions centered around the topic of oversharing, including a case study about sexting, building on student knowledge and understanding from last years' advisory sessions. Terry Maguire, Secondary Librarian, and Mr. Over the past two weeks, Grades 9 and 10 have been involved in meaningful conversations about oversharing online. These same students will undergo the second set of DP Mocks as usual early in the last semester of their senior year. Grade 11 students will take part in their first set of DP Mock Exams May 28-30. In addition to these new MAP tests being conducted under exam conditions, we have added new DP Mock Exam dates to the calendar. The tests and dates are May 13 Language Usage, May 14 Reading, and May 15 Math. Grade 9 and 10 students will take all three of their MAP tests in Palm Pavilion under identical conditions and protocols as they will experience during the the DP exams. The MAP Math tests will be taken in the classroom to permit room for students to write calculations on sheets of paper. Grade 7 and 8 students will assemble together to sit the MAP Reading and Language Usage tests in the Tiyende Pamdozi Performing Arts Center at the same time. In order to help prepare our Secondary students for their final DP exams when they reach Grade 12, we are adding exam prep conditions to the MAP tests for MYP students next month. If you have any questions, please stop by to see or email Secondary Librarian Terry Maguire or Secondary Teacher Tom Potter. Please sign up here to add your details to our planning spreadsheet. We will happily reimburse you for any expenses incurred and can help organize sports equipment or other necessary items. We promise that teens & tweens are AWESOME age groups to work with and that our AISL students are affable, polite, and willing to try new experiences. These activities should be interactive & fun, and could take any form, such as: Parents offering sessions will organize a 25-minute activity with enough supplies to do the same activity five times (students will rotate through in groups of approximately 12 at a time).

The cultural activities part of the day will run from 10:00-12:30 on Thursday 18 April. You are welcome to work with a partner(s). If you've been thinking about it but haven't signed up yet, it's not too late to do so! We're hoping that five more people will volunteer so we can have appropriately-sized groups attending the sessions. Great news! We still have room for a few more parent volunteers who'd be willing to share any aspect of their culture with our secondary students for this year's Worldfest.
